

An itinerary between Parma and the castles that dot the Lands of the Duchy, eternal tales of art, culture and history. From the Castle of Torrechiara, which stands majestically on the first hills to the Reggia di Colorno “holiday resort” of the Court.
1st day
Arrival in Parma by 10.00 and meeting at the Tourist Office.
10.30 departure for the Parma City Tour. A guided walking tour that will allow you to get to know the city’s main artistic treasures and food and wine secrets, which have made Parma a Creative City for Gastronomy and the Italian Capital of Culture 2020 + 21. The tour starts from Piazza Garibaldi, the heart of the city and continues among the main monuments, only outside, there are no entrances to the monuments.
Free lunch
In the afternoon guided tour of the Torrechiara Castle built between 1448 and 1460 by Pier Maria Rossi, one of the most significant and best preserved examples of castle architecture in Italy. The “Golden Chamber” is extraordinary, attributed to Benedetto Bembo, which narrates the delicate love story between Pier Maria and Bianca Pellegrini, his lover.
Walk among the rows of vines of Casatico and Torrechiara in an environment of great naturalistic interest with the Castle of Torrechiara always clearly visible. The final destination is one of the wineries in the area that grows grapes which they then transform into fine wines from the Parma Hills.
Visit to the production rooms and the cellar where the bottles rest and wine tasting accompanied by typical local products.

Guided visit to Castello di Tabiano one of the most important defense monuments of the feudal era in Upper Emilia. Built at the beginning of the 11th century on an ancient Roman settlement, it was one of the fundamental garrisons of the Marquises Pallavicino for the control of the Via Francigena and the salt wells in the area. Situated in a dominant position on the Po Valley, it boasts a unique panorama that sweeps up to the Alpine chain.

In the afternoon guided tour of the Reggia di Colorno and the Historic Garden. Sumptuous and monumental summer residence of the Farnese and then of the Bourbons in the following century, the Duchess Maria Luigia of Austria made it one of the most prestigious Italian residences.
