1st day – Parma, Colorno

Arrival in Parma in the morning and hotel accommodation Meeting with the guide and departure for the Parma City Tour; a guided walking tour that will allow you to get to know the city’s main artistic treasures and food and wine secrets, which have made Parma a Creative City for Gastronomy and the Italian Capital of Culture 2020+21. The tour starts from Piazza Garibaldi, the heart of the city and continues to the main monuments, only outdoors, there are no entrances to the monuments.

In the afternoon transfer to Colorno and guided tour of the Reggia and the Historic Garden: formerly the summer residence of Francesco Farnese, then the favorite home of Don Filippo di Bourbon and his wife Louise Elisabeth, daughter of Louis XV of France, who renovated and furnished it on the noble model of Versailles and was inhabited by Maria Luigia of Austria, wife of Napoleon until the mid-nineteenth century.

Return to Parma with a stop at the majestic Valserena Abbey, known as the “Certosa di Parma” in reference to Stendhal’s novel: it is a Cistercian monastery built between 1314 and 1324 and entrusted to monks of the Abbey of Chiaravalle della Colomba.

Overnight

2nd day – Fontanellato

Transfer to Fontanellato, among the most beautiful villages in Italy, and walk in the historic center among medieval views. Guided visit to Rocca Sanvitale, a suggestive castle in the center of the town with the famous room of Diana and Atteone painted by Parmigianino.

Transfer to Masone di Fontanellato.

Tasting lunch  At the Bistrot “Il Labirinto by 12 Monaci”

Visit the largest Labyrinth in the world made with thousands of bamboos of different species that cover 7 hectares of land.
