A journey of taste in one of the “best” areas of the Terre d’Emilia, to discover some of the typical products protected by quality brands: Parmigiano Reggiano, Parma ham and tasting the Colli di Parma DOC wines. Without forgetting the historical and artistic beauties that dot the area: the Castle of Torrechiara and the Rocca Sanvitale di Sala Baganza.


Day 1

Arrival in Langhirano and visit to a ham factory to witness the manufacturing process of Prosciutto Crudo di Parma, the most famous cured meat in the world, you will discover why this protagonist of the territory can be produced only in this suggestive hilly area of the Province of Parma.

At the end of the tasting visit.

Transfer and visit to a production cellar of DOC wines of the “Colli di Parma”

Lunch/tasting in the cellar.

In the afternoon, photo stop and walk in the village that surrounds the Torrechiara Castle </ strong>, the most romantic of the Castles of the Duchy which celebrates the delicate love story between Pier Maria Rossi and Bianca Pellegrini, his lover.

Transfer to Parma and hotel accommodation.

Dinner in a typical restaurant belonging to the Parma City of Gastronomy club

2nd day – 

Early departure for a guided tour of a Parmigiano Reggiano production dairy where it will be possible to witness the entire production process of the “King of cheeses”, visit the salting and maturing rooms .

At the end tasting of different ages of Parmigiano Reggiano DOP

Transfer to the hills, in a gracious 18th century building, for a cooking lesson and preparation of simple dishes typical of the Emilian tradition. At the end of the lesson, lunch with the dishes prepared during the course.

Transfer to the medieval agricultural courtyard of Giarola, located on the right bank of the Taro river and visit the Pasta Museum. The exhibition itinerary tells its entire story starting from the raw material, the grain of wheat and its transformation in the home tradition up to industrial production. Curious objects, large machinery and period testimonies guide the journey through history, customs, food deeply marked by a product that is now an international heritage.
