Residences, gardens, labyrinths, products: the province of Parma reveals itself

Day 1: Parma – Fontanellato

Morning arrival and visit to a Parmigiano Reggiano cheese producer with tasting, discovering the stages of production and the aging rooms.

Visit the Parmigiano Reggiano Museum in Soragna.

Transfer to the Labyrinth of the Masone, created by Franco Maria Ricci, an extraordinary cultural park featuring the largest bamboo labyrinth in the world.

Light lunch at the Bistrot of the Masone.

In the afternoon, transfer to Polesine and guided visit of the Culatello Museum, followed by a walk through the Po Forest, an outdoor route exploring the woods, Po River vegetation, and free-range black pig farming. Small tasting of culatello.

Transfer to Roccabianca and guided tour of the Roccabianca Castle, a monumental fortress built between 1450 and 1465 by request of Pier Maria Rossi for his beloved Bianca Pellegrini, after whom the castle is named.

Check-in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2: Colorno – Parma

After breakfast, transfer to Colorno.

Guided visit (with audio guide) of the Royal Palace, the country residence of the Dukes of Parma. Stroll through the garden with audio guide and a picnic basket of local products for a picnic in the park.

In the afternoon, return to the hotel for a short rest. At 5:00 PM, meet the guide for a guided city tour of Parma, including entry to the Cathedral, Diocesan Museum, and Baptistery, followed by an aperitif with tasting of Parma cured meats.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Mamiano – Torrechiara

After breakfast, visit a Parma Ham producer with tasting, followed by a visit to the medieval Torrechiara Castle.

Late morning, continue to Mamiano and visit the Fondazione Magnani Rocca, which preserves masterpieces by artists such as Van Gogh, Titian, and Dürer. Free time for a relaxing walk in the large park.
