Day 1 – Parma
Arrival in Parma in the morning and meeting with the guide.
Parma boasts a long musical tradition, with great musicians associated with the city, including Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini.
Guided tour of the city’s main monuments, with entrance to the Cathedral, Baptistery, Teatro Regio, Toscanini’s Birthplace, Casa della Musica, and Casa del Suono.
Check-in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 2 – Busseto • Polesine
After breakfast, transfer to Roncole Verdi for a guided visit to Verdi’s Birthplace, a humble farmhouse located a few kilometers from the city center.
Transfer to Busseto and visit Casa Barezzi and Teatro Verdi.
Lunch break in a historic osteria, closely linked to the music, life, and works of Maestro Giuseppe Verdi. The main dish features cured meats. Vegetarian options include cheeses, spreads on fresh bread, and homemade desserts.
Guided visit to the Renata Tebaldi Museum, showcasing a fascinating collection of objects, clothes, and jewelry belonging to the singer whom Arturo Toscanini called “the voice of an angel,” as well as documents, images, and memorabilia from famous artists and Tebaldi’s colleagues.
Opposite the museum is the Franciscan Convent of Santa Maria degli Angeli, whose Gothic church houses the famous “Compianto sul Cristo morto”, a polychrome terracotta sculptural group by Guido Mazzoni (1476/77).
