

Day 1
Chiaravalle della Colomba – Castell’Arquato
Arrival at the Cistercian Abbey of Chiaravalle della Colomba and visit to the church and large central cloister of the complex founded in 1135-36 at the behest of Abbot Bernard of Clairvaux.
Possibility to purchase products and spirits from the monastery.
Tasting lunch with PDO cold cuts from Piacenza (coppa, salami and pancetta) and a glass of wine.
Possibility to purchase typical products
Transfer to Val d’Arda and accommodation in a hotel*** / B&B/ Farmhouse in Castell’Arquato or nearby.
Visit to the wonderful village of Castell’Arquato, perched on a hill overlooking the valley; the village is striking for its authenticity and the majesty of its thirteenth-century monuments such as the Palazzo del Podestà, the Rocca Viscontea and the Chiesa della Collegiata.
Dinner in a typical restaurant and overnight stay.
Day 2
Veleia Romana – Vigoleno
Breakfast at the hotel/agritourism and departure for Veleia Romana, located at an altitude of 450 meters from which you can admire the forum and thermal baths. Taking the road back to the valley floor, you will cross beautiful hills cultivated with Ortrugo and Gutturnio grapes. Lunch at an agritourism or winery.
After lunch continue to Vigoleno where you will be greeted by the keep that dominates the splendid fortified village, and walking inside the village will make you feel you are in another era. You cannot leave Vigoleno without tasting its Vin Santo in one of the cellars where it is produced.
