Day 1 – Castell’Arquato: history, flavors, and traditions

Arrival in Castell’Arquato in the morning and hotel check-in.
This is followed by a guided tour of the medieval village: a walk through historic alleys and squares, entrance to the Romanesque Collegiate Church, the Visconti Fortress (with panoramic views over the valley), and the Geological Museum.
Lunch with a tasting of cured meats and cheeses at the Municipal Wine Shop.
In the afternoon, an easy walk of a few kilometers to a local winery.
Visit to the vineyards and cellar, followed by a tasting of local wines.
Return to Castell’Arquato. After a short rest, cooking class or mini sommelier course.
Dinner at a restaurant and overnight stay.

Day 2 – Vigolo Marchese • Gropparello • Veleia Romana

Stage distances:
• Castell’Arquato → Vigolo Marchese → Gropparello: 25.9 km
• Gropparello → Veleia → Castell’Arquato: 6.2 km
Total elevation gain: 160 m

After breakfast, pick-up of the e-bikes and departure toward Gropparello.
The varied and scenic route leads to the Romanesque complex of Vigolo Marchese (11th century), with a visit to the baptistery and the Church of San Giorgio.
Continuation to Gropparello for a guided tour of the castle and lunch at a medieval tavern.
In the afternoon, cycling toward Veleia Romana, an ancient Roman city surrounded by nature: forum, basilica, residential quarters, and the site where the famous Tabula Alimentaria Traianea was discovered, the largest bronze inscription in the Roman world.
Descent along the Arda stream and return to Castell’Arquato.
Dinner at a restaurant and medieval fencing demonstration.
Overnight stay.

Day 3 – Castell’Arquato • Vigoleno

Distance: 28.8 km
Elevation: +520 m / –512 m

Breakfast and departure by e-bike along the cycle path leading to Vigoleno, one of the most charming villages in Italy, still enclosed within its medieval walls.
Visit of the village and lunch at a winery producing the renowned Vin Santo di Vigoleno DOC, a rare and precious wine made in limited quantities.
Afternoon return to Castell’Arquato.
End of services.
