Day 1: Parma
Arrival in Parma in the morning and meeting with your guide.
Parma has a long history connected with music; many great musicians are linked to the city, including Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini.
Guided tour of the city center monuments with entry to the Cathedral, Baptistery, Teatro Regio, the birthplace of Toscanini, the House of Music, and the House of Sound.
Check-in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 2: Polesine – Busseto
After breakfast, transfer to Busseto and guided visit of Verdi’s birthplace in Roncole Verdi, a humble rural home located a few kilometers from the town center.
Transfer to Busseto and visit Casa Barezzi and the Verdi Theatre.
Lunch break in a tavern, a historic place connected to music, the life, and works of Maestro Giuseppe Verdi. Cured meats are the main dish; vegetarian options include cheeses, spreads on fresh bread, and homemade desserts.
Next, guided visit to the Renata Tebaldi Museum, hosting a fascinating exhibition of objects, clothing, and jewelry that belonged to the singer whom Arturo Toscanini called “the angelic voice,” as well as documents, photos, and testimonies from famous artists and Tebaldi’s colleagues.
Opposite stands the Franciscan Convent of Santa Maria degli Angeli with its Gothic church, housing the famous “Lamentation over the Dead Christ”, a polychrome terracotta sculptural group created by Guido Mazzoni (1476–77).
